Set against a brilliant charismatic blue sky, Havelock’s beaches are like an artist’s palette. At every beach, the sea changes its colour and indeed it makes our holiday a fairy tale. It is one of the most popular destinations of Andaman. The serenity of this place makes it ideal for relaxation. It also is a hub of water sports activities. One can come to Havelock by a cruise from PortBlair or by helicopter services. It has some of the finest beaches like Radhanagar, Elephant beach and Kalapatthar.  RADHANAGAR BEACH – White sandy soft shiny beach surrounded by forest, and blue sea, Radhanagar is one of the finest beaches in the world and the best in Asia as described in Time Magazine (2004). Good for swimming, it is the most popular among tourists. It has an amazing sunset view. KALA PATTHAR BEACH– Located on one corner of Havelock, this beach has large black rocks along the beach line. In this beach, you can see three different colours of the sea at the same time

There is no better start to a day than to wake up in the morning with the sound of raindrops falling on your window pane. Yes, the monsoon has arrived, the grey sky, the muddy patches in the street, the long traffic jam and Rabindra sangeet over a cup of tea and fritters. You can literally smell monsoon. No matter how people complaint, monsoon has always been special to me. The monsoon, the season of rain and unpredictability seems to have much resemblance to my own personal traits. It takes me back to my carefree childhood when we danced to the rhythm of rain on “rainy day” holidays, when paper boats were no less than PSP for us, when maa would make amazing fritters and give us small cups of tea when eating khichdi with hilsa fry tasted better than biriyani. My memories of acquaintance with Rabindranath also goes back to this season thanks to my parents, who made these memories musical. Bhool Bhulaiya – The Labyrinth

M ystery is always attractive and intriguing.  Nothing in the world has more attracting power than mystery.  Life itself is a mystery, we never know what is next and where it takes us, very similar to the place where we are in,  Bhool Bhulaiya – the labyrinth at BaraImambara.  This is the very first thought that struck our mind when  we stepped in this epitome of mystery. View from the top  Well, history feels much better when felt.  As soon as we stepped inside this huge architecture,  we felt that we have come to a different life  in a different era. We could feel the  goosebumps  and the mystery surrounded  us  even more as we started getting inside it.   It was our first trip to Imambara  but it felt like we have been here before  and that is where the mystery deepened.     Bara Imambara is composed of two words, Bara meaning big and Imambara means shrine.   A small hilly town on the lap of nature in the foothills of Himalaya. Kalimpong!  Around 2hrs drive from Siliguri, Kalimpong has a lot to offer and is a popular attraction among the visitors. The lovely view of Kanchenjunga, Monasteries, heritage buildings but most importantly  flower nurseries. The one  I visited  is famous for its exotic collection of rare cactus plants. A GREEN BREAK

L ife is hard, in a fast-paced world. As the city engulfs me and makes me restless, I take a break and go to a place where life is simple and beautiful.  Amidst the greenery that I long for in the concrete jungle of the city, I feel alive.  Usually, the children are the ones who know the art of simplicity and being happy with the little things. I love spending time with them or watching them from distance, playing, giggling and enjoying life in the purest forms. Well, it’s a Sunday morning, no office for me and hence I decided to make my day useful. Woke up early in the morning and went to a village nearby called Gourdaha, it is in south 24pgs and is very close to Kolkata. On reaching there, I could feel the difference, the freshness in the air, the clear sky and greenery all around… Yes, this is going to be a good day!
